I lost it when they started talking about Nugget Traps and Earl's Glory Holes...

That was some funny [censored] right there and how the narrorator pegged that into the last episode, he knew what he was doing.... rofl

Where can I go and find a Nugget Trap and Glory Hole?

I haven't seen this reality show as I generally don't watch any of them. The main reason I don't is the final edit of the show can be spliced together so many different ways to show what the producers think will generate a buzz that you are not really certain what actually happened is truly shown on the screen after the final edit. Reality? Maybe but by creatiing an alternate reality to bring in more viewers who will see the sponser's product.
Besides, I deal with enough reality day to day so I don't need any drama in my entertainment.

No, Todd didn't punch dorsey. The other welder dude (not the pain pill addict) with the scrawney red goatee and permanent copenhagen lip punched Dorsey off camera. Then there was a mad dash to the FUZZ 40miles away to see who could file charges againt each other first....wtf...but I did watch it!

Gold panners. I had an uncle that did that in Idaho.
That Gold Fever is no joke. Those idiot prospectors will spend a summer burning up $2000 in gas traveling to and from their 'claim' and powering their generators and dredges.

...then completely cream their jeans over 3 pinpoint sized flakes at the bottom of their pan like they just hit the mother lode.

Fuel -$2000.00
Food -$500.00
Equipment -$3000.00
Divorce -$75000.00
Value of gold +0.01

I'm surprised they can get away with that much excavation so close to the River. I don't see how that could be good for the fish..etc. confused

EXACTLY what I've been thinking. I absolutely love the show, but the huge difference (re: AuntyM) between people turning a big fortune into a small one as gold miners vs. fishermen is that these guys are absolutely destroying the environment.... I'm not saying there's no footprint from my boat, I'm saying the mulitplier here is 100 or 1000 or more.

I am enjoying Gold Rush. Looks like a couple of villages in Oregon are missing their idiots. You have to give them props for getting out there and doing it, trying to make it the old style way. When Todd asked his sis for $40K to keep them going was classic, what an ahole.
